Education Department

At the Abilene Zoo, we make it our goal to provide the public with a rich educational and recreational experience. We do this by having various programs available throughout the year to the public, as well as area schools and organizations. Such opportunities include educational programs for schools and organizations, zoo tours, weekend programs for the public, monthly educational programs for preschoolers, the Zoo Teen program, and zoo camps. The Education Department Mission Statement and goals are as follows:

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
To foster an appreciation and understanding of natural environments and their conservation by providing educational and entertaining opportunities

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT GOAL
The ultimate goal of the Abilene Zoological Gardens' Education Department is to be the environmental resource of the Big Country.
