Environmental Recycling Center


The Environmental Recycling Center, located at 2209 Oak Street, is a "One Stop Drop" Recycling Center as part of Abilene's voluntary recycling program. The hours of operation at the Center are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. The Center is closed on all city approved holidays. Tree Limb Unit

We accept:

Loose grass/leaves, and tree limbs from residential property. Limbs or portions of trees in excess of five inches in diameter must be cut into 18-inch lengths (fire wood size). Portions of trees in excess of 24 inches in diameter must be split and cut to fire wood size. Bagged grass or leaves must be emptied in the designated areas.

We cannot accept:

  • Un-split larger tree trunks
  • Root systems

    We Offer:

  • Free firewood
  • Free wood chips and mulch
  • We will haul chips to addresses inside the city limits. Please call 672-2209 for bulk delivery.
  • Please bring your containers and implements to load the mulch or firewood.
  • Chips and mulch are also available at some of the Neighborhood Drop off Sites. Please call 672-2209 for updates on location and availability.
