Environmental Recycling
Center
The Environmental Recycling Center, located at 2209 Oak Street, is a "One Stop Drop" Recycling Center as part of Abilene's voluntary recycling program. The hours of operation at the Center are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. The Center is closed on all city approved holidays. Back Yard Composting Training Area
- Located at the Environmental Recycling Center, the training area will demonstrate the methods of back yard composting and display simple home made compost bins.
- Back yard composting can provide you with excellent supplements for your flowerbeds or gardens, as well as removing those items from the waste stream.

Educational tours are given upon request. Demonstrations of the glass pulverizer, can recycling, plastic recycling processes, as well as back yard composting, will be given.
