FACILITY:
Sears has a full-court basketball gym, two racquetball courts, an after-school activity room, and a banquet/activity room with a kitchen that is shared with our Senior Citizen Program. The senior citizen's area consists of billiard and exercise rooms and a den area. The outside park includes covered pavilions, a playground, tennis courts, a basketball goal, and a walking/jogging trail.
FACILITY RENTAL:
Recreation Center Gymnasiums are available for rental for private use. Facilities can be rented 5 years in advance with a three day advanced notice. Cost for rental is $25 per hour for private non-fundraiser rental. A $50 deposit is required. For more information or to make a reservation contact the facility directly.
RACQUETBALL:
We have two regulation racquetball courts. These can be used free of charge by anyone sixteen years of age or older. A parent or guardian may accompany a player who is under sixteen. Courts are available MONDAY, TUESDAY, and THURSDAY from 9:00am to 8:00pm, and 9am to 6pm WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY. You may call to reserve a court, ensuring availability. It is always advisable to call ahead if planning to play during morning or lunch hours.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM:
The free After-School program operates from August through May. This structured, supervised program offers arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor sports, games, field trips, special events, homework help, and educational classes.
SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM:
The Summer Playground Program is a ten-week program available at nine sites. This is a structured well-supervised program with expanded activities similar to the after school program. Fees are as follows for 2010
Session I (4 weeks) June 7 - July 2 (Closed 5th)
City Resident: $80
Non-city resident: $83
Session II (4 weeks) July 6 - July 30
City Resident: $80
Non-city resident: $83
Session III (3 weeks) August 4- August 20
City Resident: $65
Non-city resident: $68
PROGRAMMING HOURS:
Monday through Friday:
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Senior Citizen Program (Lunch @ 11:30)
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - After-School Program (Ages 6-13)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday -- Facility closes at 9pm (see Leisure Guide for scheduled
activities and class times) (Check with center for open gym times)
Wednesday and Friday -- Facility closes at 6pm
Saturday and Sunday -- Facility closed (Available for rental)
