Zoning and Land Use Mission: To continually raise the quality of development through innovative regulation, customer education, and a proactive consultative process. Overview: The Zoning and Land Use section uses a variety of regulatory tools to implement land use and development policy. It serves as an information resource and as the point for coordinating development functions within the organization. Division staff provides expertise and policy advice to citizens, the City Council, appointed Boards and Commissions, and the City staff at large. The Division serves a unique role in balancing the needs of the development industry for flexibility and choice with the interests of the public that is impacted by development decisions. |
