Historic Preservation
Mission:
To promote and safeguard the City's heritage, and encourage the uniqueness of neighborhood character by conservation, and the fostering of civic pride in the accomplishments of the past.
Objective:
The Historic Preservation section of the Planning and Development Division is charged with administering the Landmarks Ordinance and staffing the Landmarks Commission and planning for the preservation of Abilene's unique architectural and historical resources.
