WHO WE ARE . . . Mike Michaud – Laboratory Manager – has been with the City of Abilene since July 1992 and has served as the Laboratory Manager since March 2006. Prior to this, he was the Quality Control Chemist and a Laboratory Technician. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas, a B.S., M.Div., and an M.A. from Abilene Christian University. His previous experience includes chemical research in the pharmaceutical, chromatography, and petroleum industries. He is certified as a class A Laboratory Analyst by the TWUA, and holds class B Wastewater and a D Water licenses. Mike is currently the Lead Technical Director and the Deputy Quality Control Manager. Mike Homan – Industrial Waste Manager – has been with the City of Abilene since July 1998. He began with the City as a Laboratory Technician specializing in metals analysis. He is retired from the Air Force and holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Hardin-Simmons University. He also holds a Customer Service Inspector’s License . Robert Klafter – Quality Control Manager – has been with the City of Abilene since February 2000 and has served as the Quality Control Manager since May 2007. Prior to this his primary duties include Oil & Grease, metals, and Cyanide analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University. He is certified as a class C Laboratory Analyst by the TWUA, and holds a B Wastewater. Rob is currently the Quality Control Manager and a Technical Director. Julia Casey – Laboratory Technician II – has been with the City of Abilene since December 1998. Her primary duties include total organic carbon, Chlorine Dioxide Generator efficiencies, and various water and wastewater analyses. She holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Arizona State University and a MS Hardin-Simmons University. She holds class C Wastewater and a D Water licenses. Lacey Boles – Laboratory Technician I – has been with the City of Abilene since July 2006. Her primary duties include Bacterial Analysis, Ion Chromatography and various water and wastewater analyses. She holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from McMurray University and has 24 hours towards a Master’s Degree in Biology from Baylor University. She holds a class D Water license. Lacey is currently the Technical Director for Microbiology. Chris Cox – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since May 2007. His primary duties include metals analysis and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He holds a class D Water license. Zach Hoover – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since May 2007. His primary duties include sampling and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University. He holds a class D Water license. Gail Worley – Administrative Clerk – has been with the City of Abilene since February 2000. Her primary duties consist of overseeing all administrative functions in the lab including reports, billing, and purchasing. Andrea Johnson – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since November 2007. Her primary duties include sampling and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She holds a class D Water license. Landan Smith – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since November 2007. His primary duties include sampling and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Field and Marine Biology from Texas A & M University. Shannon Hodgson – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since January 2008. Her primary duties include sampling and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Nicholas Rodriguez – Laboratory Technician I– has been with the City of Abilene since March 2008. His primary duties include sampling and various water and wastewater analyses. He holds a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Morris Jacobsen – Customer Service Inspector – has been with the City of Abilene since October 2000 and the Customer Service Inspector since February 2006. His primary duties deal with backflow prevention. He holds a Customer Service Inspector’s License . |
