Qualifications:

Position involves responsibility for enforcing laws and ordinances, preventing, investigating and detecting crimes, and in the apprehension of persons accused of a crime. Qualifications:

Provides advanced nutrition skills and assists with the quality assurance programs in WIC. Will prepare ongoing evaluation of individual counseling, nutrition classes, clinical procedures, and provide staff training on nutrition-related topics and nutrition assessment procedures. Must have the ability to assist with the completion and implementation of the Nutrition Education and Breastfeeding Plan and to conduct facilitated nutrition education classes. Experience in pediatrics, maternal nutrition and/or WIC preferred. Must be a Registered Dietitian in the State of Texas and have college level course work in nutrition.

Qualifications:

This a professional and administrative position to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the engineering, operations, and maintenance work of the Traffic Engineering and Operations division of the City. The position includes technical supervision of investigations, engineering design, preparation of plans and contract documents, and inspections of traffic control projects; direction of subordinate supervisors engaged in the installation, operation and maintenance of traffic control devices; provides traffic engineering advice and assistance to other City units; and interaction with management and the public on traffic engineering issues. Work is performed with considerable professional independence and judgment under the general direction of the Traffic and Transportation Administrator.

Prefer five years of engineering experience primarily in municipal traffic engineering work including some supervisory experience; but will consider one year of relevant experience, requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field; possession of, or ability to obtain, a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas; and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications:

Provides an educational facility for the entertainment and recreation of City patrons and tourists. Supervises the safety, enlightenment and enjoyment of zoo visitors. Responsible for obtaining available funds, drafting and administering the annual budget and searching for, preparing and monitoring grants. Works closely with the Zoological Society and other groups to raise funds and build public support and participation for the zoo. Supervises, through subordinates, the maintenance and construction of zoo improvements and maintenance activities. Plans and supervises technical aspects of the housing, care, feeding and exhibition of a variety of mammals, birds and fish. Directly or through subordinates assigns and supervises workers engaged in animal care and facility maintenance. Manages an excellent education and public relations program. Oversees ISIS system and continues accreditation with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

 

 

Five years experience in the operation and maintenance of zoo facilities including significant supervisory and administrative experience; graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in the biological sciences or related fields; or any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills; to work independently and to complete activities according to schedules; to communicate orally and in writing; to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public; and to work in an environment that includes an active Zoological Society, local government and the public all of whom have interest in the zoo. Knowledge of the care, treatment and display of animals; and of the policies, regulations and procedures regarding the acquisition, shipment, and health care of animals.

Qualifications:

Work involves performing a variety of manual labor custodial tasks in the housekeeping and maintenance of city-owned buildings. Duties include but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, trash hauling, window washing, public restroom cleaning, floor buffing, and carpet cleaning. May also climb ladders stock supplies, and move furniture. Additional duties may include learning the mailroom procedures to process city mail. Will sort mail for departments, meter outgoing mail, and process certified mail. Primarily day time hours, some weekends with at least 6 hours worked per shift. Must be able to lift 60 pounds. Requires attending pertinent training classes as needed. Must have valid Texas Drivers License to be able to operate a city-owned vehicle. Also involves the operation of equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of the water and sewer system. Experience in performing heavy manual work; educational background sufficient to understand work assignments. Utility Worker (II): Two years experience comparable to a Utility Worker I in the City of Abilene. Must have valid Texas Commercial Drivers License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
