CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR LISTING


Below are the projects that are under contract through the City of Abilene Engineering Department. It is our intent to provide this information so that citizens have an opportunity to avoid these areas while traveling and be aware of safety hazard locations.

 

Project: SOUTH SIDE RESIDENTIAL AREA PHASE III
Limits of Repair: Richmond, Fairmount, & Waldemar from Danville to Pioneer

                           S. Leggett Dr. from S. 7th St. to S. 14th St.

                           Potomac Ave. from Pioneer Dr. to Leggett Dr.

                           Buccaneer Dr. from S. 7th St. to Potomac Ave.

                           S. 7th and Leggett Intersection

                           Sidewalks on Pioneer Dr. between Fairmount St. and S. 14th St.
Start date: January 14, 2013
End date: Winter 2013
Details: This contract will include the reconstruction of several streets as well as construction of curb and gutter, sidewalks, and curb ramps.

Lane Closure or Street Closure: As needed.  Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences as best as possible during construction.

 

 

Project: MISCELLANEOUS SEAL COAT PROJECT (2013)  

Limits of Repair:

Section 1: Street sections located between Danville Dr and Mockingbird Ln & N 1st St. and N 10th St

Section 2: Street sections located between Treadaway Blvd and Judge Ely Blvd & EN 10th St and Ambler Ave

Section 3: Street sections located between Treadaway Blvd and Judge Ely Blvd & E HWY 80 and EN 10th St

Section 4: Street sections located between Sayles Blvd and Treadaway Blvd & S 14th St and S 7th St

Section 5: Street sections located between Buffalo Gap Rd and Treadaway Blvd & Danville Dr and S 27th St

Start date: January 2013

End date: Fall 2013

Details: This contract involves the repair of failed areas as well as level up in the roadway followed by a one course surface treatment.

Project: ENGINEERING DIVISION MISCELLANEOUS REPAIR WORK (2011-2012)
Limits of Repair: Miscellaneous locations throughout the City of Abilene.
Start date: December 2011
End date: October 31, 2013
Details: This is a unique type of contract for the City of Abilene. It involves the repair of existing streets, bridge rail, and drainage structures that are in need of immediate repair. There may also be sidewalk repair, curb and gutter repair and concrete alley apron repair as necessary.

Project: MISCELLANEOUS WATER CUTS REPAIR (2012-2013)
Limits of Repair:

Locations where the Water Dept has made a cut to repair underground lines.
Start date: Summer 2012
End date: Fall 2013
Details: This is a unique type of contract for the City of Abilene. It involves the repair of existing streets that have been damaged by the replacement of water lines. There may also be sidewalk repair, curb and gutter repair and concrete alley apron repair as necessary.

Project: MISCELLANEOUS SEAL COAT PROJECT (2012)  

Limits of Repair:

North Section: Street sections located between N. 1st St. and N. 10th St. between Mockingbird Ln. and Grape St.

South Section: Street sections located between S. 7th St. and S. 14th St. between Pioneer Dr. and Willis St.  

Locations of Repair:

North Section: Fannin, Burger, Green, Shelton, Westmoreland, Forrest, High, Park, Kirkwood, Graham, Lillius, Victoria, Clinton, Merchant, Reading, N. 2nd, N. 5th, Holbron, N. 7th, Parramore, N. 8th, State, and N. 9th.

South Section: Harford, Stratford, Waldemar, Fairmount, Benbrook, Richmond, Monticello, Avondale, Hawthorne, Buccaneer, Westridge, Lexington, Clairmont, Rivercrest, Elmwood, Sylvan, Hollis, Glenwood, Grove, Albany, Davis, Blair, Woodridge, Edgewood, Bickley, S. 12th, Grissom Pl., Park Pl., S. 10th, S. 9th, S. 8th, and Ward

Start date: COMPLETED

End date: COMPLETED

Project: SOUTH SIDE RESIDENTIAL STREETS PHASE II: 

Limits of Repair: South 8th, South 10th, Idlewild, Jeanette, Peach, Palm, & Poplar Streets between South 7th & South 11th between Sayles and Butternut.  

Start date: COMPLETED

End date: COMPLETED

Details: This contract involves the rehabilitation of existing pavement as well as replacing concrete curb and gutter, valley gutters, and curb ramps.
