SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ABILENE, TEXAS, WILL BE HELD IN THE BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM OF CITY HALL, 555 WALNUT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEWING THE REVISED 2001-02 AND PROPOSED 2002-2003 BUDGETS AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES:

The City Council of the City of Abilene reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), and 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices)

Litigation is, by its nature, an on-going process, and questions may arise as to trial tactics, which need to be explained to the City Council.  Upon occasion, the City Council may need information from the City Attorney as to the status of the pending or contemplated litigation subjects set out above.  After discussion of the pending and contemplated litigation subjects, in executive session, any final action, or vote taken, will be in public.

A complete list of City Boards and Commissions are on file in the City Secretary's Office.  After discussion of appointment and evaluation of Council Ap­pointees and Board and Commission members in executive session, any final action or vote taken will be in public.

 

(Real Property) Section 551.072

City Council may consider the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property in a closed meeting when deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the governmental body in negotiations with a third person.
