Information
The Friends of the Abilene Public Library host a gigantic annual book sale. The sale includes books, DVDs, video and cassette tapes, CDs, records and other items. The sale is held at the Abilene Civic Center with proceeds benefiting the Abilene Public Library. Admission is free.
Thursday, June 13 - 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Friends preview sale. Members only (Memberships starting at $15.00 will be available at the door.)
Friday, June 14 - 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Open to public.
Saturday, June 15 - 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Open to public.
Sunday, June 16 - 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
"Bag-o-Books" sale on Sunday only, where $6.00 will get you an entire bag of great books (Bags furnished at the sale.)
Prices on most general sale items, including hardbound books and trade paperbacks, will be $1.75, while mass-market paperbacks will be 75¢ each.
Two featured areas of the sale are the Corner Store and the 'Antiques & Uniques' area. The Corner Store features new or almost new books at a fraction of their original price. The 'Antiques & Uniques' area contains rare, hard-to-find and collectible books and other items at below market prices. Both of these areas will include special interest fiction and non-fiction titles.
Credit cards and debit cards will now be accepted at the sale. Of course, cash and checks are always welcome.
