Title: Full TIme Division/Department: Municipal Court/Finance Department Salary: $2,818.94 per month ($1,301.05 bi-weekly)* Qualifications: Under direction from Court Administrator or Municipal Court Judge will perform a variety of duties involved in performing law enforcement-related work in executing citations, summonses and subpoenas. Knowledge of court procedures and terminology in order to understand and follow legal, oral, and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret data in the computer and on other documents. Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office 2000 for communication and obtaining information. Provide information, assistance, and related court services to defendants and public. Ability to work inside and outside office environment, interact with members of the Abilene Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff Office, and other law enforcement agencies or related entities and courts. Excellent interpersonal skills regarding matters of the court, with the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. Ability to use tact and diplomacy under stressful, combative situations associated with arrest of defendants. Perform clerical work related to duties in a prompt, correct and legible manner. Ability to operate standard office equipment including telephone, fax machine, and copier. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Court Administrator or Municipal Court Judge. Title: Full Time Division/Department: Traffic & Transportation/Public Works Department Salary: $60,000+DOE/Q Qualifications: This a professional and administrative position to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the engineering, operations, and maintenance work of the Traffic Engineering and Operations division of the City. The position includes technical supervision of investigations, engineering design, preparation of plans and contract documents, and inspections of traffic control projects; direction of subordinate supervisors engaged in the installation, operation and maintenance of traffic control devices; provides traffic engineering advice and assistance to other City units; and interaction with management and the public on traffic engineering issues. Work is performed with considerable professional independence and judgment under the general direction of the Traffic and Transportation Administrator. Prefer five years of engineering experience primarily in municipal traffic engineering work including some supervisory experience; but will consider one year of relevant experience, requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field; possession of, or ability to obtain, a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas; and a valid driver's license. Title: Full Time Division/Department: Wastewater/Water Department Salary: $3, 268.87 per month ($1, 508.71 bi-weekly)*
Qualifications: Under direction of Treatment Superintendent, will plan, supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of a large sewage treatment plant using bio-filtration and activated sludge processes including pumping stations, clarification, chlorination, digestion, and filtration. Will maintain surveillance of the operating efficiency of the plant; maintain records and prepare reports regarding the operation of the plant and the quality of the plant product; suggest methods of improving plant efficiency. Supervise and assist in making chemical and bacteriological analysis of treatment plant products; use analysis data in maintaining quality control of plant products. Requires six years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant (preferably experience in a plant of 10 MGD or greater) including two years of supervisory experience equivalent to a lead operator or above. Education requirement equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in chemistry, biology, sanitary engineering, or a related field. Any combination of education and experience may be qualifying. Physical requires include but are not limited to the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, and lift 100 lbs; exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards; ability to travel to different sites.
